Zeroth Bridge Opens Global Booking as OpenBridge Officially Launches

Verified: 2 September 2026. Today's novelty is not the first reveal of Bridge. The robot and OpenBridge were previewed in China in August and shown at the World Robot Conference. The material September 2 update is global Bridge booking, the formal OpenBridge launch and the Bridge Builder Program.

Zeroth has officially opened global booking for its compact Bridge humanoid and launched the OpenBridge developer ecosystem. The company says the first batch of the Bridge Geek Edition is available for purchase and global booking starts September 2 through zeroth-openbridge.com. Pricing may vary by region.

That framing matters because Bridge did not appear for the first time today. Chinese media discussed it in mid-August and the product was physically shown at the World Robot Conference alongside OpenBridge previews. RoboMorrow should therefore describe September 2 as a global booking and ecosystem-launch milestone, not as the first unveiling of a new robot.

Bridge: an 88 cm developer platform

According to the official release, Bridge stands 88 cm tall and weighs about 13 kg. Its arms are 30–40 cm long and end in two-finger grippers. Zeroth claims stable bipedal walking, obstacle avoidance and a library of natural movements and choreography. For developers, the more important features are access to SDKs, open motion-control APIs and motion-capture / VR integration.

Zeroth calls Bridge an “AI-native embodied robot,” but that is company positioning rather than an independently standardised technical category. Open interfaces and support for custom algorithms do not by themselves prove autonomous intelligence. Real task tests, success rates, continuous operating time and intervention data will matter much more.

OpenBridge aims to be more than an SDK

OpenBridge is presented as an open-source ecosystem for embodied intelligence. Zeroth describes unified development tools, shared training resources and a public Skill Hub where community members can publish and build on robot capabilities. The company compares the ambition with Android opening smartphone development beyond a single hardware maker.

The analogy is attractive but needs evidence. Its value will depend on licences, documentation quality, support for external models, how much code is actually public, and whether skills can be reused reliably. “Open-source ecosystem” should not be interpreted as every firmware and hardware layer being open until repositories and licences are inspected.

Bridge Builder Program: 500 developers in the first phase

Zeroth is also launching the Bridge Builder Program. The first phase will shortlist 500 developers. The top 200 are promised complimentary access to Bridge for co-creation, while the remaining 300 receive priority access to purchase the Geek Edition, SDK access and eligibility for later program stages.

This may be more strategically important than a robot demo. The program provides an observable test of whether an external developer community forms around the platform. If independent developers begin publishing useful, reproducible skills in Skill Hub, OpenBridge will gain value beyond the launch narrative.

What about the RMB 8,888 price?

Chinese reporting in August cited a leaked or local introductory Geek Edition price of RMB 8,888. Today's global release does not establish one worldwide price. It explicitly says Bridge pricing may vary by region. RoboMorrow therefore should not convert RMB 8,888 into a presumed European price or present it as a guaranteed global offer.

For Poland and the EU, shipping, VAT and duties, warranty, service, spare parts, battery support, safety documentation and regulatory conformity will all matter. For a developer platform, hardware purchase price is only one component of total deployment cost.

What we still do not know about autonomy

The official material discusses stable walking, obstacle avoidance and a broad movement library, but it does not publish a standard manipulation benchmark. We do not know end-effector payload, grasping accuracy, task-level battery life, autonomous task success rates or which demonstrations depend on teleoperation.

That last point is important because August coverage highlighted whole-body remote control. Teleoperation is valuable for data collection and development, but it is not evidence that a robot autonomously understands and completes the same task.

Why Europe should care

Bridge could occupy a useful position between expensive laboratory humanoids and simple educational platforms. Compact dimensions and open developer interfaces can make experimentation easier for universities, startups and Physical AI teams. If global booking translates into real EU deliveries and an active ecosystem, the entry barrier to humanoid development may fall.

European customers will still need more than a booking page: reliable service channels, compliance documentation and spare parts will determine whether Bridge is a platform that can responsibly be recommended to developers in Poland or elsewhere in the EU.
