Short answer: ECOVACS GOAT O600 RTK is primarily a 600 m²-class choice if you want local RTK plus AIVI camera perception, a narrow chassis concept and a 30–80 mm cutting range. Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR is more attractive when you want roughly 800 m² capacity and LiDAR + Vision positioning without a local RTK antenna. Both carry a 45% (24°) manufacturer slope claim, but the localisation architecture is fundamentally different.

The main mistake with this pair is buying from lawn-size numbers alone. The 600 versus 800 m² rating matters, but localisation architecture matters more. O600 centres the system on RTK supported by camera perception. i208 LiDAR moves the primary burden to local LiDAR + Vision and therefore does not require a local RTK reference antenna.

GOAT O600 RTK: who should want RTK plus camera perception?

ECOVACS describes TrueMapping 2.0 as multi-fusion RTK. The company publishes internal-lab claims about connection recovery and stability, but the buyer-facing fact is simpler: satellite/reference positioning remains central, while AIVI camera perception adds a local sensing layer.

O600 is built for compact gardens. ECOVACS lists up to 600 m², approximately 0.7 m passages, a 45% (24°) slope claim, barriers up to 3 cm and a 30–80 mm cutting-height range. That is a sensible home-garden configuration rather than an extreme-terrain platform.

Availability is the current caveat. The Polish product page does not expose a public price, while ECOVACS Germany's official store currently says O600 is unavailable and points buyers toward newer alternatives. That does not prove every Polish retailer is out of stock, but it means the exact O600 offer must be confirmed before it wins a purchase decision.

Navimow i208 LiDAR: the advantage is antenna-free localisation and more area headroom

i208 LiDAR sits in Navimow's Smart LiDAR family. Segway lists up to 800 m², a 5.1 Ah battery, about 110 minutes runtime, around 110 minutes charging and approximately 265 m² mowing per full charge. The series carries a 45% (24°) slope rating.

The key difference is positioning. i208 LiDAR is presented as LiDAR + Vision without local RTK antenna installation. It maps the environment locally, which can be appealing around mature trees, walls and sites where sky visibility changes.

LiDAR is not automatically superior. Local sensing has its own failure modes: changing vegetation, highly repetitive surfaces, dirty sensors, rain and unusual reflections can all matter. The advantage is a different dependency model — less dependence on a local satellite reference installation and more on onboard sensing.

Under trees: which architecture has fewer dependencies?

If tree canopy is the core problem, i208 LiDAR has a clear architectural argument because primary localisation does not depend on a local RTK antenna. O600 strengthens RTK with camera perception and ECOVACS claims improved stability in shade, but satellite/reference positioning remains part of the stack.

No manufacturer can guarantee perfect operation in every garden. Dense canopy, glass, dark walls, repetitive hedges and narrow passages create different perception problems. For an explicitly “under trees” property, we would start evaluation with i208, while still checking return policy, service and the exact garden layout.

Narrow passages and edges: ECOVACS publishes the more concrete claim

ECOVACS explicitly states passages around 0.7 m and promotes TruEdge behaviour. That gives a buyer a measurable number. Navimow focuses on local mapping and coverage, but very narrow bottlenecks should still be checked against the current manual and the actual turn geometry.

A 0.7 m straight corridor is also not the same as a 0.7 m turn. Raised borders, stones and approach angle matter. We therefore do not translate one minimum-width claim into a universal guarantee.

Slope: a paper draw

Both manufacturers state 45% (24°). That does not settle the purchase. Maximum slope says little about wet grass, cross-slope travel, a boundary located on the bank or loose soil. If 45% is a routine working condition rather than one short section, an AWD platform deserves consideration instead of running either mower at the edge of its stated envelope.

Price and stock may decide more than specifications today

Segway showed i208 LiDAR at about €1,199 on its official European store. ECOVACS' Polish O600 page did not provide a public price, while the German official shop marked the exact O600 unavailable. RoboMorrow will not invent a price simply to complete the table.

If an authorised Polish seller has O600 in stock with full warranty and a strong price, it remains a legitimate option. If availability is weak or the price approaches a newer O800 offer, buyers should compare the current GOAT lineup rather than anchor on an older SKU found in search results.
