Choose a robot for frameless windows only after confirming compatibility with your specific panes, dimensions and operating conditions. “Edge detection” alone does not answer questions about gaps, surfaces, exterior access or securing the device. Describe your windows first, then compare products.

Send this description to the seller and ask about the exact model. “Suitable for large windows” does not settle a case involving film, a gap between panes or difficult access. Keep the model confirmation and the instructions the seller cites.
Frameless does not mean unrestricted
The absence of a frame is only one property. Size, shape, glass condition, moisture and temperature can introduce other restrictions. Do not transfer information about one product to an entire series. A window, mirror and glass balustrade can require separate checks even when they look similar.
ECOVACS’ official W3 OMNI help advises against uneven surfaces, glass that is too small or unusually shaped and certain difficult environmental conditions. This illustrates why the sales description must be read alongside the manual. It does not establish W3 compatibility with every frameless pane.
W3 OMNI or HOBOT SP10?
Investigate W3 OMNI if a pad-servicing station interests you and you have many large panes. HOBOT SP10 is a separate design whose manufacturer describes washing, wiping and water removal. Confirm glass compatibility for each device before comparing the convenience of its equipment.
We do not declare a streak-removal winner. That requires identical soiling, the same glass, comparable pad conditions and photographs in similar light. Manufacturer video can explain a mechanism without replacing that comparison.
Will it actually save your time?
Count the complete session: preparation, attachment, transfers between panes, pad changes or washing, manual finishing and putting the equipment away. Robot run time on glass is different from your labour time. With many small windows, transferring the device may dominate the workflow.
A purely organisational example: 12 panes requiring an average of two minutes of handling each means 24 minutes just for transfers and preparation. This is not a measured result for any model. Substitute your own numbers before comparing the process with your current cleaning method.
What belongs in the first controlled trial?
- Read the instructions and carry out the specified preparation and safety attachment.
- Choose an accessible, permitted location from which you can safely retrieve the device.
- Record your own handling time and any interventions.
- After the cycle, inspect the centre, edge strip and corners under the same lighting.
- Check pad condition and the work required to clean the equipment afterwards.
Do not test protection systems by deliberately cutting power or provoking a fall. A home usability trial should not imitate a laboratory failure test.

- What exclusions apply to film, coatings, gaps and exterior use?

Check the exact product name, included equipment, local seller and delivery to your address. W3 OMNI is not W2 PRO OMNI, and SP10 is not S7. A similar photograph and the phrase “window cleaning robot” do not establish an exact match. When no verified local Amazon offer exists, we do not substitute another device.
