EngineAI T800 is unusual because the manufacturer publishes not one price but four, tied to meaningfully different configurations. That makes simple statements such as “T800 has 29 DoF and costs X” unreliable. Basic is listed at $40,500, Open Source at $54,000, Pro at $63,000 and Max at $80,800. The editions differ in hands, degrees of freedom, perception, compute and developer access.

Four T800 configurations under one product name

The edition table lists Basic and Open Source at 25 DoF without dexterous hands. Pro has 29 body DoF plus 14 hand DoF, totaling 43. Max rises to 32 + 14, or 46 DoF. Elsewhere the Marketing section references 29 body DoF excluding hands. That is not necessarily a contradiction — it describes a richer configuration — but it is exactly why buyers must use the table for the specific edition they are ordering.

Motion and power

T800 is 173 cm tall, weighs roughly 75–85 kg depending on edition and is listed with hardware-supported speed of at least 3 m/s. Maximum joint torque reaches 450 N·m. EngineAI states 4–5 hours of battery life, with different battery configurations including conventional lithium and an optional solid-state pack in some editions.

The company shows highly dynamic martial-arts movements, kicks and combinations. Those demos demonstrate mechanics and motion control; they are not a benchmark of autonomous warehouse work.

Why Pro and Max change the use case

Hand-equipped editions provide seven DoF per hand with tactile sensing, enabling more sophisticated manipulation. Open Source and higher editions also offer stronger compute and secondary-development support. For a research team, that difference can matter more than leg performance.

Public pricing does not make this a normal consumer purchase

RoboMorrow classifies T800 as C — ENTERPRISE / PUBLIC PRICE. The public table is extremely useful for budgeting, but actual purchase still runs through EngineAI's sales/store channels and configuration process. EU buyers also need to account for transport, tax, conformity documentation, support and spare parts.

Autonomy: a sensor list is not proof of independent work

Depending on edition, T800 can use an Intel depth camera or EngineAI's stereo-vision plus LiDAR stack, while higher variants use AGX Orin compute. That is a capable base for embodied AI, but autonomy must be evaluated task by task. The product page itself notes that some showcased functions remain under development, testing and refinement.

The practical advantage: configuration transparency

In a market where many vendors answer price questions with “contact sales,” EngineAI's edition table is valuable. A buyer can see the cost difference between a base platform, developer access and dexterous-hand configurations before starting negotiations. It does not replace a commercial quote, but it makes early budgeting far easier.

What should a procurement request specify?

  • exact edition: Basic / Open Source / Pro / Max,
  • battery type and measured runtime for the target task,
  • hand version and tactile sensing,
  • compute plus SDK/API access,
  • documents required for EU import and use,
  • warranty, spare parts, repair lead time and remote support,
  • task-level evidence of autonomy.

Do not compare prices without normalizing configuration

$40,500 Basic and $80,800 Max are not simply two prices for identical hardware. DoF count, hands, perception and development access differ enough that comparisons with Unitree, Fourier or NEURA should be configuration-to-configuration.

Four prices, four materially different robots

T800's public price list is useful only when read together with configuration. The $40,500 Basic and $54,000 Open Source editions show 25 DoF and no dexterous hands in EngineAI's table. The $63,000 Pro and $80,800 Max add 14 hand DoF and reach 43 and 46 DoF respectively. That is a major difference for manipulation and application development.

The same Marketing page also uses a 29-DoF figure for the body excluding hands. Rather than treating that as one universal specification, RoboMorrow maps DoF to the edition table. Buyers should request a final BOM/specification for the exact unit being ordered.

Importing into the EU: sticker price is only the start

A purchase from China can add freight, taxes, duties, conformity documentation, spares, local service and remote-support requirements. Public pricing is valuable as a benchmark, but it does not mean T800 is as easy to buy and maintain in Poland or the EU as a standard consumer product.
