Kress EyePilot RTKⁿ 1000 KR261ES

Kress EyePilot RTKⁿ 1000 KR261ES is a good example of the move away from single-sensor localisation. It uses Kress network RTKⁿ, while the manufacturer says V-SLAM, IMU and wheel odometry can support positioning when trees or buildings weaken satellite reception. KR261ES has integrated 4G and is specified for up to roughly 1000 m² of mowing in 24 hours.

RTKⁿ without a local reference station

Traditional local RTK requires a base station at the property. Kress RTKⁿ uses a network of permanent reference stations and sends corrections over the internet, removing the need to install and power local RTK hardware. The mower still needs GNSS reception; network RTK does not make satellites irrelevant.

Kress says its correction network is designed and monitored specifically for robotic mowing. Where GNSS degrades, EyePilot can use visual landmarks through V-SLAM, inertial information from the IMU and wheel movement. In principle, this gives the mower more ways to maintain a position estimate through short satellite interruptions than a single-sensor system.

ZeroTrim and 1000 m² capacity

KR261ES has a 20 cm cutting width and manual 20–60 mm height adjustment. Kress quotes up to 1000 m² of 24-hour mowing capacity. ZeroTrim adds an edge-cutting disc to reduce follow-up trimming. As with any edge system, the real result depends on whether the boundary is a wall, kerb or flat hardscape.

The specification lists a 40% maximum slope, 11.8 kg weight, IPX6 protection and 58 dB perceived sound. Battery capacity is 4 Ah at 20 V. The mower supports multi-zone operation, routing between lawn areas and automatic, assisted or app-based mapping.

Integrated 4G with no additional fees, according to Kress

The official KR261ES page states that integrated 4G connectivity is included without extra fees. That differs from some competitors that charge for cellular data after an initial period. Service terms can be market-specific and should still be confirmed with the local dealer before purchase.

Price and Polish availability

Kress relies heavily on a dealer network. The official UK site lists £2,119 including VAT for KR261ES with integrated 4G and £1,949 for the non-integrated-4G variant. RoboMorrow did not find an equally clear official Polish retail price, so we do not mechanically convert the UK figure into a Polish price or claim local stock.

Who is it for?

EyePilot makes sense for lawns around 1000 m² where a local RTK mast is undesirable and parts of the garden sit close to trees or buildings. It is not an AWD machine for extreme banks: the official 40% slope limit is clearly lower than LUBA mini 2 AWD or Husqvarna 435X AWD NERA.
