Unitree H2 is one of the few full-size humanoids in 2026 with both a public list price and an official purchase path. That matters because most competing platforms still require a project discussion or pilot agreement. Unitree lists the base H2 at $29,900 before tax and shipping; H2 EDU is sales-assisted, and Unitree explicitly positions the EDU edition as the version that supports secondary development.

What does $29,900 actually buy?

H2 stands about 182 cm tall and weighs about 70 kg with its battery. Unitree specifies 31 body degrees of freedom: six per leg, seven per arm, three at the waist and two at the head. Maximum leg-joint torque is listed at 360 N·m and arm-joint torque at 120 N·m. The company also states a peak arm payload of roughly 15 kg and a rated payload around 7 kg, with performance depending on posture and configuration.

The 15 Ah / 0.972 kWh battery is rated for about three hours. The base H2 uses an Intel Core i5-class computer for platform functions; H2 EDU adds a separate development computer and can be configured with higher-power compute, including NVIDIA Thor options. Both versions include a wide-field stereo camera, microphones, a speaker, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

H2 versus H2 EDU: the distinction matters

These should not be treated as the same robot with a different quote. Unitree does not mark the standard H2 as the secondary-development edition. EDU is aimed at research, custom models, control work and deeper software integration, and it can be configured with dexterous hands. If your goal is embodied-AI research, manipulation development or a custom robotics stack, EDU is the relevant starting point.

The base H2 does not include dexterous hands as standard. That matters when comparing the spec sheet with demonstration videos: dynamic locomotion does not automatically translate into ready-to-use fine manipulation.

Availability: BUY NOW does not mean plug-and-play in Europe

RoboMorrow classifies H2 as A — BUY NOW because a public price and official store exist. The class does not certify EU compliance, integration readiness or local service. The $29,900 price excludes tax and shipping. EU buyers still need to verify conformity documentation, importer responsibilities, warranty coverage and spare-parts logistics for their specific use case.

Unitree lists an eight-month warranty for H2 and twelve months for H2 EDU. For a high-value, mechanically complex machine, service turnaround and downtime can matter more than the headline purchase price.

Autonomy: capable hardware is not a finished general-intelligence product

H2 can carry powerful compute and embodied-AI models, but autonomy depends on the software stack, task, data and integration. Unitree itself notes that some showcase functions on the product page remain under development and testing. RoboMorrow therefore does not label every movement demo as an out-of-box autonomous feature.

Who is H2 most relevant for today?

  • Universities and labs — especially the EDU edition with developer access.
  • Physical-AI teams — for whole-body control, perception and manipulation research.
  • Integrators — as a prototyping platform, provided safety and deployment costs are budgeted.
  • Not a normal home robot — an online checkout does not make it a consumer appliance.

What should an EU buyer verify?

Ask for the exact configuration, compute module, hand option, SDK/API scope, safety documentation, warranty terms for the destination country, shipping cost, spare-parts process and conformity documents relevant to the planned environment. Professional deployment also requires a task-specific risk assessment.

What does an H2 buyer actually buy?

The public $29,900 figure is an entry price for the base configuration, not a complete European project budget. A serious calculation must add freight, taxes and duties, optional hands, additional compute, spare parts, local integration support and the engineering time required to create a safe application. The standard H2 and H2 EDU are also not equivalent from a developer perspective: Unitree positions secondary development around the EDU configuration, which has a different support path and can be configured with stronger compute.

This matters when H2 is compared with cheaper Unitree platforms. A higher sticker price does not automatically mean more autonomy. H2 gives you a larger, heavier body, stronger joints and a more human-scale workspace, while useful task performance still depends on software, hands and environment. Procurement teams should therefore request a demonstration of the exact hardware configuration that will be delivered rather than relying on a video made with a different variant.

H2 versus H2 EDU: do not mix specifications

Unitree's materials separate the base and EDU variants. The purchase order should explicitly lock the hand option, computer, SDK access, warranty scope and spare-parts process. That prevents a Marketing-level product specification from being interpreted as a guarantee that every advertised capability is present on the purchased unit.

Compute ambiguity worth checking: Unitree's H2 hero copy advertises the platform as powered by up to 2070 TOPS, while the detailed configuration table separately lists an Intel Core i5 as base compute, an additional Core i7 for EDU development and optional high-power modules such as Thor. RoboMorrow therefore does not assume every $29,900 H2 ships with a 2070-TOPS configuration; buyers should confirm the BOM of the exact unit.
