A robot moves pallets in Bukowno. Start with the route

The best automation candidate is not always the most spectacular task. Repeated transport between defined points may be easier to specify, measure and accept. The Bukowno example illustrates why an AMR discussion should start with the flow of pallets.

What the source supports

Mobile Industrial Robots describes MiR500 at Schneider Electric in Bukowno, in use since January 2020. It transports finished goods between production and the warehouse, with operator-issued missions. The deployment includes pallet stations and process integration. Reported actual loads reach 400 kg; they should not be confused with the 500 kg rated payload.

Map the route, not just the building

For your project, draw the whole loop: where an empty pallet starts, where it becomes full, who confirms readiness and where the task ends. Mark waiting locations and situations where the receiver cannot accept a load. Distance alone does not establish completion time or the number of robots required.

Do not size a fleet from rated payload

Payload describes a limit, not the number of journeys. Sizing needs mission distribution, pickup and drop-off times, route blockages and charging. Measure the peak rather than only a daily average. This is our proposed planning method, not additional performance data from Schneider Electric.

The bottleneck may wait at the destination

A robot arriving at an occupied station does not deliver the intended flow. Ask about mission queues, priorities, unavailable drop-off positions and manual operation during an outage. Decide who updates the rules after production changes. Deployment should cover responsibility for the operating process, not just a demonstration journey.

How would you check suitability for your site?

Measure existing journeys and human tasks. Include an occupied station, an empty-carrier return and ordinary site traffic in the acceptance trial. Count completed missions and interventions. A complete quotation should cover the robot, pallet equipment, integration, training and upkeep. Only that scope can be compared with the current transport cost.

What remains unconfirmed

We do not confirm today’s unit count, current factory configuration or a monetary ROI. A historical deployment from 2020 is not a new 2026 launch. The supplier’s case does not replace a site visit or audit.
