Window-cleaning robot outdoors: when to stop or postpone
A window-cleaning robot can help with exterior glass only if its own manual permits that use, conditions are suitable and you can safely position, secure and retrieve it. A pane does not become accessible simply because the machine can travel across it. Uncontrolled space below the window or a need to lean outside is a reason to choose another method.

What the WINBOT instructions establish
The EMEA guide supplied by ECOVACS for W2 PRO OMNI permits exterior windows in calm conditions without rain or snow, using the required restraint. It also calls for supervision and protection of the area below. A separate manufacturer FAQ rules out exterior cleaning in rain. This is not permission to operate every WINBOT in any weather.
Read the manual matching your own device and market. Temperature, glass, anchoring and cable requirements apply together. Selecting one favourable specification cannot establish that the complete setup is suitable.
Four decisions before starting

Assess the window as a handling task
On a sketch, mark the starting point, return position and where you will retrieve the device. An opening sash must not pinch the cable or alter its route during operation. Establish suitable manufacturer-required anchoring before preparing a wet cleaning pad.
The tether and power backup are components of the manufacturer’s protection system. They do not replace safe access or justify leaving the device alone. Do not test them by deliberately cutting the power or provoking a detachment.

Accepting one window does not automatically approve the rest of the building. Corner glazing, different opening arrangements and wind exposure can change the conditions. Recheck cable routing and retrieval access every time you move the machine.
When postponing is the correct outcome
If conditions no longer meet the manual, follow the manufacturer’s stopping procedure and retrieve the machine from a safe position. Do not try to preserve the schedule by choosing a faster cleaning mode. If the device cannot be reached safely, do not improvise an external rescue attempt.
Include preparation, supervision and transfers in the time comparison, rather than counting only travel across glass. Where the requirements cannot be met, a service using access equipment suited to the building may be the appropriate option. A household robot does not solve facade access.
