Quick verdict: the i215 LiDAR is the better-value choice for a larger, relatively straightforward lawn: it is rated for up to 1,500 m² and the official European comparison lists it at €1,399. The i210 LiDAR Pro is rated for only 1,000 m² and carries a €1,599 regular price, but the Pro line is positioned for harder gardens: steeper slopes, multiple zones, narrow passages and more challenging landscaped layouts. This is a case where the smaller capacity model can cost more because you are paying for terrain capability rather than raw area.

Why can the i210 Pro cost more than the i215?
The naming is easy to misread. The “215” number mainly reflects area capacity, while “Pro” marks a different application tier. Segway positions i2 LiDAR Pro for more fully landscaped gardens with multiple areas, narrow paths, shaded corners and difficult geometry. That can matter more than an extra 500 m² of nominal capacity.
If you have 700–900 m² split into several lawn sections, with trees, retaining walls, slopes or tight connectors, the i215’s larger area rating does not automatically solve the harder navigation problem. In that setting the i210 Pro can be the more rational buy even though it has the lower capacity number.
Area and charging: clear advantage for i215
On an open lawn the i215 is straightforward: 1,500 m² rated capacity and 426 m² per charge, versus 1,000 m² and 195 m² per charge for the i210 Pro. “Area per charge” is not a universal measure of battery quality, because drive strategy and conditions matter, but it does indicate fewer returns to the dock when the garden is large and simple.
If your actual mowing area is 1,100–1,400 m², the i210 Pro would be operating outside its stated area class, so the i215 is the logical choice. Around 800–950 m², both have enough nominal capacity and the decision should shift to slopes, corridors, layout and signal conditions.
Slopes: 55% vs 45%
Segway states up to 55% (29°) for the i2 LiDAR Pro line and 45% (24°) for the standard i2 LiDAR line. Do not design an installation exactly at the limit. Wet grass, loose soil, cross-slope driving and turns near an edge can all reduce real traction. If parts of the lawn regularly approach 40–45%, the Pro model’s extra margin is meaningful.
LiDAR and Network RTK: what they share
Both are wire-free Navimow models and use Network RTK without a local base antenna. Segway says positioning access is included, which can simplify installation where you do not want a mast or cannot find a clean site for a local RTK station. LiDAR also adds local environmental perception, but no mower is completely independent of garden geometry: corridors, edges, tall plants and turnaround space still matter.
Which one should you buy?
Choose i210 LiDAR Pro if…
- your real mowing area is up to roughly 1,000 m² but the layout is complex
- you have meaningful slopes and want more margin than the 45% class
- the lawn is split into several zones or narrow connectors

At verification, Navimow’s family page showed the i210 LiDAR Pro at €1,299 versus a €1,599 regular price. That temporarily makes it cheaper than the €1,399 i215 and changes the value equation. Do not size a mower from plot area
A 1,200 m² property does not mean 1,200 m² of grass. Remove the house, driveway, patio, beds and other non-mowing surfaces. At the same time, avoid buying exactly at the limit: rapid spring growth, rain and missed mowing days create backlog, and capacity headroom helps the robot recover.

Both lines are designed as wire-free systems. Network RTK removes the need to install a local reference antenna, but buyers should still check service coverage for the actual postcode before purchase. LiDAR provides another important local positioning input. This combination is attractive where installing a mast or maintaining a boundary wire would be inconvenient.
Prepare the garden before mapping: remove loose objects, trim low branches and verify the usable width of passages between zones. The more complex the garden, the more turning space and corridor geometry matter. This is where the Pro line can be more valuable than the i215’s additional nominal area.
Charging and recovering after missed mowing days
Segway’s official guide lists about 195 m² per charge for the i210 LiDAR Pro and 426 m² for the i215 LiDAR. Treat this as a comparative productivity indicator, not a guaranteed daily output. Grass height, slope, obstacle avoidance, turning and route complexity all affect real performance.
After several rainy days, a mower on a large open lawn may need to catch up quickly, which favours the i215. On a smaller but highly segmented garden, a larger battery does not remove the difficulty of narrow paths, slopes and repeated turns. Around 900–1,000 m², map complexity should therefore drive the decision before battery size.
Total ownership cost beyond the mower price
Budget for blades, an optional garage, eventual battery replacement and local service. A wire-free system avoids boundary-wire installation and repair, but relies more heavily on positioning electronics, the app and network services. Segway states that required data for Network RTK is provided without an extra fee; check the current country-specific terms at the time of purchase.

Is the i215 automatically the better model because the number is higher?
No. The i215 has a higher area rating, while the i210 belongs to the LiDAR Pro line aimed at more challenging garden geometry. The number and the Pro suffix describe different product dimensions.
Does the i210 Pro make sense for a simple 600 m² lawn?
Only if you need its terrain advantages or the current promotion is unusually attractive. On a flat, simple lawn, much of the Pro capability may go unused.
Does 55% mean it will always mow every 55% slope?
No. It is a manufacturer maximum. Wet grass, uneven ground, traverse direction and turning space affect traction. Keeping a margin below the published maximum is more sensible than designing the installation exactly at the limit.

700 m² with a steep section
If parts of the garden approach the regular LiDAR line’s 45% slope limit, the Pro model’s stated 55% margin can matter more than the i215 capacity advantage. Wet grass and cross-slope manoeuvres still reduce real traction.
Trees and tall walls
Do not buy from the square-metre number alone. Ask the retailer to confirm positioning-service support in your country and, where possible, demonstrate mapping in conditions similar to your garden.
Setup: what Network RTK changes
Traditional RTK often requires a local reference antenna and a carefully selected mounting point. Network RTK moves that layer into a network service. That means less hardware in the garden, but the buyer should still confirm service coverage, connectivity requirements and the exact terms for positioning data in the country of use.
If the garden has weak cellular/Wi‑Fi coverage or the mower will be used outside the purchase market, ask for written compatibility confirmation. Removing a local antenna is only an advantage when the network service is reliable at the property.
Ownership cost
Because both models sit in the same family, long-term cost will be shaped by blades, battery replacement, wheels, service and any connectivity terms more than by a small promotional difference at checkout. Check spare-battery pricing and local repair lead time before choosing purely on a €200–€300 discount.
