NEURA 4NE1 Mini: Standard vs Pro, pricing and reservation

NEURA 4NE1 Mini — manufacturer visual; hand configuration may differ from Standard

Featured visual: NEURA Robotics. Product material; not a RoboMorrow hands-on test photograph.

4NE1 Mini is not merely a smaller 4NE1 with an identical feature set. NEURA distinguishes Standard and Pro, with manipulation being a major purchasing difference. The entry price should not be used to imply the capabilities of the more expensive version.

Standard and Pro solve different problems

A team studying locomotion or interaction can assess the platform differently from a manipulation laboratory. Choose the version from the planned experiments rather than price and appearance alone.

For Pro, clarify the scope of teleoperation, interfaces and supplied software. Hand degrees of freedom describe mechanics; they do not guarantee successful use of arbitrary tools.

Manufacturer imagery may show a hand-equipped configuration. That does not establish identical manipulation capability on Standard. Read the version name and picture together.

Write down the experiments that are essential rather than merely attractive. A platform suitable for demonstrating movement can be unsuitable for a project whose central question concerns force-controlled grasping.

Where a smaller platform may fit

A smaller robot may provide a useful basis for some whole-body research, but scale is not neutral. Different proportions and surroundings can change the task. Experimental results need not transfer directly to a full-sized machine.

Educational value also depends on documentation, interfaces and support. A humanoid shape does not create a good curriculum by itself. Prepare a set of exercises and check whether the supplied package supports them.

We do not describe Mini as a toy or a machine for unattended use around children. Operating arrangements should follow the documentation and the assessment of the particular environment.

Consider the laboratory setup as well as the robot. Work area, supervision and recovery procedures form part of a workable research platform, even when the hardware looks compact.

Questions before reserving

Beyond machine pricing, obtain cancellation terms, confirmed timing and the final specification. Do not assume every difference between Standard and Pro can be purchased as a later upgrade.

Ask about batteries, charging, consumable parts and support response. For a small laboratory, an extended interruption can matter more than a modest difference in initial price.

Separate the purchase of hardware from the purchase of behaviour. A platform supporting manipulation research need not include a complete grasping application.

At the verification date, the reviewed offer is a reservation. We have not confirmed that a particular configuration is already held in a local warehouse.

Budget software development and staff training separately. A lower hardware price does not eliminate the engineering work needed to build a useful application.

Frequently asked questions

Does Mini Standard have the same hand functions as Pro?

Do not assume that. The manufacturer differentiates the versions by manipulation capabilities.

Does the reservation payment include the robot?

No. The €100 reservation is separate from the estimated machine price.
