What distinguishes this version
The RMR6000E is more than a higher map limit. It uses a 10 Ah battery, is rated for four hours of mowing, 660 m² per charge and up to 40 zones. Those are meaningful advantages on a large property, but the 3,300 m² daily figure also shows that a full 6,000 m² lawn is a scheduled multi-cycle job rather than a single pass.
How PATH IQ works
RTK supplies an absolute position relative to the saved map. VSLAM uses the two camera feeds to build a visual map and recognise stable landmarks. VIO combines image changes with motion sensors to estimate short-term changes in position and orientation. Those layers can complement one another, but EGO does not publish the detailed confidence thresholds, weighting or safe operating duration without a full RTK fix.
PATH IQ still makes antenna placement important. The antenna needs as much open sky as practical and should not be moved casually after mapping. EGO’s storefront lists antenna mounting components among the accessories, so buyers should confirm the exact bundle and full installed price with their dealer.
Mapping and zones
The boundary is digital and does not require a perimeter wire. EGO Connect can hold mowing zones, travel paths and schedules. The model-specific technical table lists up to 40 zones. Range-level Marketing sometimes mentions 40 zones, but that higher limit belongs to the RMR6000E; the safe figure for RMR6000E is the individual SKU specification.
A virtual boundary is flexible, but ponds, drops and edges without a physical barrier demand careful mapping and a safety margin. The first runs should be supervised and no-go areas established before autonomous scheduling.
Mowing and capacity
The mower follows systematic stripes and can change its angle after a complete cycle to reduce tracks. A 24 cm cutting width and claimed 180 m²/h are moderate for the price class, making a regular schedule more important than trying to clear the whole property in one run. T3’s early test praised neat parallel lines on a simple lawn, but that does not establish performance in every garden.
Obstacles and safety
The binocular camera supports localisation and obstacle detection, yet machine vision cannot guarantee that every object will be seen. T3 reported inconsistent behaviour across obstacles of different shapes and sizes. Toys, cables, branches and tools should still be removed, and mowing scheduled in daylight when the garden is clear. Rain detection, the stop button and anti-theft features add protection but do not replace a responsible schedule.
Terrain and slopes
EGO claims a maximum gradient of 50%. GadgetGear found the AURA-R2 capable on slopes, while also reporting greater sensitivity to holes and uneven patches where a front castor could settle awkwardly. A percentage alone cannot describe a real garden: moisture, traction, cross-slope, the boundary position and local depressions all matter.
App and connectivity
Bluetooth supports nearby setup, while Wi‑Fi and 4G provide remote control and alerts. The offer includes three years of data, but the terms after that period should be checked before purchase. Early reviews describe the necessary core functions while finding the app organisation and manual mapping less polished than the category leaders. Firmware can change this, so the date of every review matters.

Maintenance and ownership cost
Routine work includes cleaning the cameras, underside, wheels and station, checking the blades and replacing worn cutters. EGO publishes an IP66 rating and strong cleaning claims, but the current manual should always govern pressure-washer use, connector protection and spray direction. The purchase price does not cover mobile data after the included period or out-of-warranty service.
Who should consider it
The RMR6000E is best suited to someone who wants to avoid a boundary wire, can place the antenna correctly and needs a map for several parts of the garden. It is less convincing where most grass sits below a dense tree canopy, boundaries are hazardous, the ground has deep ruts or the owner expects flawless avoidance of every small object.

Before paying, confirm the RMR6000E code, antenna bundle, installation support, 4G terms, local service and return policy. A unit imported from another market may have a different plug, accessory set, data service and warranty route.
RoboMorrow verdict
The EGO AURA-R2 RMR6000E is a technically interesting example of sensor fusion in a robot mower. Its strongest idea is continuity when RTK alone becomes unreliable. That earns it a place on a serious shortlist, but it does not remove the need for a garden assessment, bundle verification and caution around obstacles.

- measure the actual grass area rather than the entire property;
- check open-sky visibility at the antenna and dock;
- measure the narrowest passage and wall-side sections;
- inspect longitudinal and cross-slope at the boundary;
- count independent zones and travel paths;
- confirm the full installation bundle;
- check mobile-data terms after three years;
- verify the current app and firmware version;
- confirm service, parts and blades for the Polish SKU.
