HOBOT SP10 vs ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI: which window robot should you buy?

05.09.2026 · Redakcja RoboMorrow
ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI with station; compared with HOBOT SP10 iScraper

HOBOT SP10 iScraper and ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI solve the same task with opposite ownership models. HOBOT concentrates on the robot, cloth and two automatic squeegees. ECOVACS builds a system around a heavy station that washes the pad, manages the cable and can power operation from its battery.

Short verdict: choose HOBOT SP10 for a lighter kit, lower entry price and mechanical removal of residual water. Choose WINBOT W3 OMNI when you have many panes and manual pad washing or cable handling is the main reason the robot stays in storage. Neither removes the need for correct anchoring and supervision.

Cleaning logic: squeegees versus automatic pad washing

SP10's most relevant idea is not the suction headline. During horizontal travel it lifts the leading squeegee and engages the trailing one to remove water after the cloth. This can reduce a residual film, but the outcome still depends on clean rubber, cloth condition, solution dose and the type of dirt.

W3 OMNI does not use the same twin-squeegee layout. Its advantage appears between panes: place the dirty pad in Vortex Wash and the station uses 16 jets and four discs. It does not automate the whole home — you still move and attach the robot — but it reduces contact with a dirty pad.

Portability: count the complete kit

HOBOT lists the SP10 at 1.4 kg in a 24.5 cm square body. That matters across stairs, floors and sites. W3 OMNI automates more handling, but its station weighs 10 kg. The mass provides a stable anchor and battery/pad-care hub; it also creates a storage and carrying decision.

Safety: do not choose by a protection-count headline

Both robots use suction and both must be secured as their manuals instruct. W3 combines power and safety in one cable, adds a station tether and claims more than 800 N anchoring force. SP10 supplies a safety rope, secured connector, air-loss detection and emergency adhesion.

Routine matters more than a Marketing count: inspect the anchor and cable, check minimum pane size and exterior conditions, and keep the space below clear. Never operate above people. An emergency battery is not permission to run a corded robot normally without its supply.

Ownership cost

HOBOT has the lower entry price but assumes manual cloth and squeegee care. ECOVACS charges for a station, tanks and Vortex Wash; you also need compatible solution and pads. Compare two-year consumables, replacement availability and warranty handling before using a promotion as the deciding factor.

Which should you buy?

Choose HOBOT SP10 when:

  • you carry the robot between floors or sites;
  • you do not want to store a 10 kg station;
  • residual water and streak finishing are the main concern;
  • manual cloth washing is acceptable;
  • entry price matters more than pad-care automation.

Choose ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI when:

  • you clean many large panes in one session;
  • a dirty pad and loose cable are your largest friction points;
  • battery-supported work away from a nearby outlet matters;
  • you have room to carry and store the full kit;
  • saved handling time justifies the premium.

FAQ

Can both clean frameless glass?

Both manufacturers describe edge sensing, but pane-size requirements and start procedures differ. Check the exact regional manual and supervise the first run.

Is W3 OMNI hands-free?

No. The station washes the pad and manages part of the workflow, but you still move and attach the robot, refill solution, empty dirty water and periodically clean the station.

Does SP10 guarantee streak-free glass?

Twin squeegees are a credible design response to residual water, not a guarantee for every pane. Rubber condition, cloth cleanliness and dosing still decide the result.
