Roborock Saros 20 and Dreame X60 Ultra Complete are much closer competitors than Saros 20 and the older X50. Both belong to a new generation of ultra-low flagship robot vacuums, both use active mechanics to deal with thresholds, and both have docks with hot mop washing. Even the headline suction claims are almost identical: 36,000 Pa for Saros 20 and 35,000 Pa for X60.

That does not make them interchangeable. Roborock centres its design on StarSight 2.0, AdaptiLift 3.0 and automatic mop detachment. Dreame answers with VersaLift, ProLeap, dual AI cameras and side-facing 3D structured light. The better choice depends more on your home geometry and preferred ecosystem than on a 1,000 Pa difference.

Saros 20 vs X60 Ultra Complete — key differences

The prices above are a snapshot, not a permanent advantage. Roborock’s Polish store showed Saros 20 at about €850 against a crossed-out about €1,400, while Dreame showed X60 Ultra Complete at about €1,000 against about €1,500. Promotions can change at any time, so verify the live checkout before buying.

Height: almost a tie, but achieved differently

Saros 20 has a 79.8 mm body and Roborock describes access into spaces around 79.5 mm with limited passive flex. Dreame X60 can lower itself to roughly 79.5 mm by retracting its VersaLift navigation assembly, while the extended configuration is taller. Both are designed to reach beneath furniture that excludes conventional turret-LDS robots.

I would not choose between them from a few tenths of a millimetre on a specification sheet. Measure the real clearance under the sofa at several points and account for rugs, furniture sag and protruding hardware. If the gap is exactly 80 mm, either robot may rub and the scenario should be treated as borderline.

Thresholds: “8.8 cm” does not mean the same thing

This is the most important trap in the comparison. For Saros 20, Roborock specifies a two-layer 4.5 + 4.3 cm arrangement with defined spacing. It is not a claim that the robot can climb one 8.8 cm vertical block. Dreame separates the X60 figures more explicitly: about 4.5 cm for a single step and up to 8.8 cm for a suitable two-stage obstacle.

If your home has one sharp 4.2–4.5 cm door bar, the X60 specification maps more directly to that problem. For a complex two-stage threshold, both mechanisms deserve consideration, but exact geometry matters far more than adding the centimetres in Marketing copy.

Navigation and object avoidance

Roborock uses StarSight 2.0 instead of a traditional protruding LDS turret. It handles mapping, localisation and obstacle perception while supporting the very low body. Dreame X60 leans harder into vision hardware: the manufacturer advertises two AI cameras, side-facing 3D structured light and illumination, plus recognition across more than 280 object categories.

An object-category count is not a direct benchmark. A thin black cable on a dark floor, a sock beside a chair leg and a transparent object can be much harder than a catalogue of known classes suggests. Without a side-by-side RoboMorrow test, we do not claim one avoidance system is objectively superior.

Mopping: similar goals, different details

Saros 20 uses two rotating mop pads and can automatically leave the mops at the dock when a vacuum-only task is planned. That is useful in carpet-heavy homes because wet pads do not need to travel over textile areas. Roborock also publishes variable mop pressure and high-temperature dock washing.

X60 Ultra Complete also develops the rotating-pad architecture and advertises 100°C dock washing. Dreame differentiates through station automation, solution handling and edge-cleaning mechanics. In real ownership, maximum water temperature matters less than wash frequency, residue in the tray and how easy the parts are to clean manually.

Pet hair and long hair

Both models target homes with hair. Roborock uses DuoDivide and a FlexiArm side brush designed to reduce tangling, while Dreame has its own anti-tangle systems. Claims such as “0% tangling” should be read as manufacturer test outcomes under defined conditions, not a guarantee for every mixture of long hair, pet fur and threads.

For pet households, inspect the whole hair path rather than only the main roller: brush end caps, side brush and the auto-empty air channel are common failure points. During the first week, checking these locations daily tells you more than the headline suction figure.

The docks are highly automated — not maintenance-free

Saros 20’s RockDock automates dust emptying, water handling, mop washing, drying and other maintenance cycles. Dreame’s X60 station performs a similarly broad set of tasks in its ecosystem. Both reduce daily intervention but create their own cleaning schedule: dirty-water tank, tray, filter, bag, channels and detergent still need attention.

The X60 Ultra Complete bundle includes a larger set of consumables. That can reduce first-year running cost, but compare how many parts you will actually use and what replacement bags, filters, pads and cleaning solution cost later.

Price: Saros 20 leads today, but a promotion is not a specification

When checked on 24 August 2026, the official Polish Roborock store showed Saros 20 at about €850 and Dreame showed X60 Ultra Complete at about €1,000. A roughly about €100 difference is meaningful, but both were promotional prices. It would be a mistake to build a permanent verdict on a gap that could reverse after the next campaign.

If prices converge, choose from threshold geometry, navigation, mop handling and the app ecosystem. If Saros remains materially cheaper, its low body, 36,000 Pa claim, StarSight and AdaptiLift create a strong value package. If X60 is similarly priced, its explicit 4.5 cm single-step specification and vision hardware may matter more in the right home.

Which should you buy?

• Choose Saros 20 if you have very low furniture, prefer the Roborock ecosystem, value automatic mop detachment and have complex thresholds that match AdaptiLift geometry — especially while the price remains lower.
• Choose X60 Ultra Complete if a single 4–4.5 cm step is the key problem, you value the dual-camera/3D obstacle stack and prefer Dreame’s ecosystem.
• Do not choose on Pa. 36,000 vs 35,000 Pa cannot predict real pickup of crumbs, dust or fur in your home.

What to test in the first week

• test the tallest threshold in both directions
• check the lowest furniture, including supports underneath

In a mixed-floor home, headline suction matters less than how the robot handles transitions. Saros 20 can alter chassis height, lift cleaning modules and leave mops in the dock, which is attractive in carpet-heavy homes. X60 also uses extensive lifting mechanics and ProLeap, while its clearest catalogue advantage is the stated 4.5 cm single-threshold capability.

Before buying, map the problem points in your home: highest sill, thickest rug, transition strip, cable zone under a desk and lowest kitchen plinth. If one of those is a hard constraint, it should drive the purchase—not a 1,000 Pa difference.

Apps, maps and automation

Both robots sit inside mature app ecosystems, but feature lists do not tell you which interface you will prefer. Check map editing, room order, schedules, no-go zones, carpet rules, pet settings and dock maintenance controls. If you already own Roborock or Dreame hardware and know the app, switching ecosystems can carry more friction than the robot price suggests.

Not every home needs a flagship. A 45–60 m² apartment with almost no thresholds, no pets and no need for a highly automated dock may get similar practical value from a less expensive robot. Does 36,000 Pa mean Saros 20 cleans better than the 35,000 Pa X60?

No. Pa is only one parameter in the suction system and does not predict the complete cleaning result. Brush geometry, airflow, sealing, route logic and debris type all matter.

Which is better for high thresholds?

For a single sill around 4–4.5 cm, X60 has the clearer published specification. For a two-stage obstacle, both brands communicate mechanics reaching roughly 8.8 cm under specific geometry, where step spacing is critical.

Is X60 worth paying more for when Saros 20 is cheaper?
