PUDU Enters Commercial Robotic Mowing With GT3, GT5 and GT7
PUDU is best known for commercial delivery and cleaning robots operating in hotels, restaurants, stores and other indoor facilities. It is now moving outside. On September 1 the company introduced the PUDU GT Series, three large electric robotic mowers aimed not at household lawns but at facility management, parks, campuses, sports fields and golf courses.
The launch is strategically more interesting than a single mower. PUDU is entering the category with a segmented portfolio: the GT3 combines mowing and light cleaning for fragmented commercial sites, the GT5 targets high-throughput maintenance of large turf areas, and the GT7 uses triplex reel cutting units for precision professional turf.
GT3: a 36-inch platform that can mow and sweep
The PUDU GT3 has a 36-inch / 914 mm cutting width, weighs about 450 kg with batteries and uses a 13 kWh pack. PUDU specifies four to five hours of runtime and up to 20,000 m² per full charge, with a 38–114 mm cutting-height range.
Its key differentiator is that it is designed to do more than cut grass. GT3 can mow, vacuum and collect clippings, leaves and light turf debris in one pass, while disabling the blades turns it into a walkway sweeper. Two edge brushes push debris toward the suction intake. When its hopper fills, PUDU says the robot can travel to an emptying point and resume the task at the previous breakpoint.
GT5: 60 inches and up to 65,000 m² per charge
The GT5 is substantially larger. It weighs around 850 kg, uses a 60-inch / 1.52 m rotary cutting deck and carries a 26 kWh battery. PUDU specifies eight to ten hours of operation, as much as 65,000 m² / 6.5 ha on a charge and a target mowing rate of roughly 8,000 m² per hour. Maximum mowing slope is listed at 20 degrees.
Like the GT3, the larger machine is designed to cut and collect in a single pass, autonomously empty a full hopper and return to work. It can generate operational maps, use geofenced areas and travel between pre-mapped turf zones without needing to be manually moved between every section of a large property.
GT7: reel cutting, RTK + LiDAR + vision and professional turf
The GT7 is the specialist of the family: a 62-inch / 1,600 mm triplex reel mower weighing about 950 kg. Its three independently floating cutting units are designed to follow ground contours, with a 5–50 mm height-of-cut range and configurations using eight or eleven blades per reel.
Navigation combines RTK, LiDAR and cameras. PUDU claims up to ±2.5 cm RTK positioning accuracy under supported conditions, with automated path patterns that can control cutting angle, rotation direction and lane offsets. Four-wheel drive is rated for slopes up to 30 degrees. The 26 kWh battery is specified for eight to ten hours of runtime and up to 70,000 m² per charge in the relevant operating configuration.
Shared autonomy, but the operator remains part of the system
All three models share multi-sensor perception built around LiDAR, camera vision and depth sensing. PUDU describes detection of people, vehicles, animals, terrain boundaries and obstacles alongside autonomous mapping, navigation and obstacle avoidance. At the same time, every model includes a manual drive mode, so the product is not designed around the assumption that a human will never need direct control.
That distinction matters in commercial grounds care. Parks, campuses and golf courses change throughout the day as people, hoses, service vehicles, temporary barriers, puddles and maintenance zones appear. Real value will depend on exception handling, uptime, intervention frequency and fleet-management quality, not just sensor count.
Europe is part of the launch plan
PUDU says the GT Series will make its global debut at GaLaBau 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, September 15–18. The company lists indoor stand 9-214 and outdoor demonstration area Pf10. That makes Europe one of the first public proving grounds for the new category rather than a distant follow-on market.
PUDU's installed base also changes the context. The company says it has shipped more than 130,000 robots across 85+ countries and regions. This is not a startup beginning with a single mower prototype; it already has commercial robotics distribution, customers and service experience. None of that proves the GT products will be reliable outdoors, but it does lower the organisational barrier to selling into large facility-management accounts.
What remains unknown
The biggest missing number is price. We also lack shipment timing, named launch customers, EU warranty terms, battery and service costs, and a clear sales model. Independent data is still needed for wet grass, weak RTK, tree cover, rough ground, edge quality, blade wear and the real ratio of autonomous hours to operator interventions.
The GT7 will be particularly revealing. Golf and professional sports turf value cut quality, turf protection, repeatability and pattern consistency more than maximum hectares per hour. If PUDU can deliver that quality autonomously, it will be competing in a much more demanding segment than consumer robotic mowing.

A standalone update should require pricing, order availability, a named customer deployment, a confirmed EU channel partner or independent real-world performance data.
