Roborock RockAqua P1 cordless pool-cleaning robot announced for IFA 2026

Verified 3 September 2026 after Roborock's IFA keynote. RockAqua P1 is Roborock's major move into cordless pool-cleaning robots. Its European product page is now public, but Roborock still says a fuller reveal is coming. RoboMorrow therefore separates confirmed specifications from information that is still missing. We do not invent a price, sales date or runtime that the manufacturer has not published.

Short answer

RockAqua P1 stands out for 15 cm shallow-platform cleaning, route planning for bowl floors, slopes and steps, vision-based drain-cover avoidance and ClearVision, which is designed to identify visible debris and prioritise dirtier areas. Roborock specifies 6800 GPH (25,700 LPH), 180 + 70 μm dual filtration and a 4 L basket.

Why 15 cm shallow-platform cleaning matters

Many modern pools do not have one uniform depth. They use steps, sun shelves, gradual transitions and shallow platforms where some pool robots lose traction or simply cannot operate. Roborock is positioning P1 around this problem. The 15 cm figure comes from manufacturer testing; real performance will depend on pool geometry, surface material, water conditions and slope.

This is more meaningful than a generic “AI” label. If P1 can move from the main floor onto a shallow shelf, clean it and return safely, it reduces an area that often still needs manual brushing. Anti-fall sensors are intended to help around platform edges, but RoboMorrow would not treat that as a guarantee for every pool design without a field test.

ClearVision and route planning

ClearVision Smart Patrol Cleaning is designed to detect visible debris such as leaves and prioritise debris-heavy areas. Separately, route planning adapts to bowl-shaped floors, slopes and steps. The vision system is also described as recognising drain covers and adjusting the path around them.

That needs independent verification. A large leaf in clear water is easier to see than fine sand, residue or debris under changing light. A useful future test should compare ordinary systematic cleaning with ClearVision and count missed areas on complicated pool geometry.

Waterline Cleaning Mode

P1 has a dedicated waterline mode that moves along the pool edge and scrubs back and forth. The waterline is a high-value target because oily film and mineral build-up frequently remain a manual-cleaning task even with a competent floor robot.

6800 GPH, dual filtration and a 4 L basket

Roborock quotes 6800 GPH (25,700 LPH) under controlled conditions. Filtration uses two layers at 180 μm and 70 μm, with a 4 L debris basket. The manufacturer describes pickup of leaves, insects, sand and fine debris in one cleaning cycle.

Those numbers do not determine real cleaning quality by themselves. Intake geometry, brushes, surface contact, hydraulic sealing and pressure loss as the filter loads all matter. RoboMorrow therefore treats 6800 GPH as a manufacturer specification rather than a cross-brand benchmark score.

Auto Waterline Parking: a small feature with real ergonomic value

At the end of a cycle, or when battery drops below 15%, P1 is designed to return to the waterline. Quick Water Release then drains water from the chassis for easier lifting. This can matter more than another app mode because a pool robot must regularly be removed, emptied and cleaned.

Price and European availability

The European P1 page does not yet show a public price or final sales date. Roborock explicitly says “More to Come” and promises a fuller reveal. A dedicated EU page is a strong regional signal, but it is not justification for converting a guessed US price into EUR or PLN.

RoboMorrow also did not verify an exact RockAqua P1 listing on Amazon.com or Amazon.pl at this checkpoint. This profile therefore does not link a random pool robot simply to create an affiliate CTA.

Who looks like the best fit?

  • pools with steps and shallow shelves that conventional robots often miss;
  • owners who want to reduce manual waterline scrubbing;
  • pools with mixed large and fine debris that benefit from a large basket and dual filtration;
  • users who value scheduled cleaning and history in an app.

What an independent test still needs to answer

  1. real coverage on 15–30 cm shallow shelves;
  2. transitions between floor, slope, step and platform without getting stuck;
  3. ClearVision performance on leaves versus fine sand;
  4. waterline cleaning on different pool finishes;
  5. runtime, charging time and performance as filters load;
  6. real lifting effort and the effectiveness of Quick Water Release.

What to check before buying for a specific pool

Before making a decision, document the pool geometry rather than only its surface area. Measure the minimum shelf depth, step width, transition slope and surface finish. P1 may be most attractive in a complex pool, but complex geometry is also where a specification sheet says the least about real coverage.

The second factor is debris type. A pool under trees has different requirements from an indoor pool dominated by fine residue. A 4 L basket and dual filtration look strong on paper, but filter-cleaning frequency and flow loss as the basket loads will directly affect convenience. Buyers should also verify app-scheduling rules, whether the robot may remain in the pool between scheduled cycles under manufacturer guidance, and recommended storage between uses.

The biggest economic unknown is still straightforward: how P1 will be priced against mature pool robots, and whether shallow-platform cleaning and ClearVision justify any premium. Without a price, RoboMorrow does not give it a “best buy” label today.

RoboMorrow verdict

RockAqua P1 looks more strategic than “Roborock also made a pool robot.” The company is applying mapping and perception ideas to an environment where geometry and missed zones are major pain points. The most interesting features are 15 cm shallow-platform cleaning, Waterline Mode and ClearVision. The biggest unknowns are equally important: price, runtime, charging and full European availability. Until Roborock publishes them, this should be treated as a launch profile rather than a complete buying recommendation.
