Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD NERA
Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD NERA is one of the most terrain-focused domestic machines in Husqvarna's range. It combines AWD, an articulated chassis, EPOS virtual boundaries and the option to use physical boundary wire. It is designed for large, difficult sites, but its headline 5000 m² figure needs careful reading.
3500 m² or 5000 m²? Both figures are official
Husqvarna specifies two capacities. With irregular mowing, the mower is rated for 3500 m². With systematic parallel-line mowing, the maximum claimed area increases to 5000 m². Calling it simply a “5000 m² mower” without the operating mode is therefore incomplete.
Systematic mowing can produce stripes, checkerboard or triangular patterns. This is not purely cosmetic: a structured route reduces random travel and increases utilisation of available mowing time.
AWD and a 70% slope claim
Husqvarna lists a maximum 70% slope inside the working area and 50% at the boundary. The boundary figure matters for safety. A steep bank beside water, a retaining wall or a drop should not be evaluated using the internal 70% number.
The articulated design and four driven wheels help with traction on uneven ground. The mower weighs 18.1 kg and measures 93 × 55 × 33 cm. It is significantly larger than 500–600 m² mowers, so narrow gates, transport paths and the charging area should be measured before installation.
EPOS without wire, subject to connectivity
435X AWD NERA supports Husqvarna EPOS virtual boundaries. Correction data are delivered through the cloud without an additional correction-service fee. Husqvarna notes that an RS1 reference station may be required if cellular coverage is not available across the entire lawn. “Wire-free” therefore should not be interpreted as “infrastructure-free under every condition”.
The mower can also use physical boundary wire, which can be valuable on a difficult property where some areas work well with EPOS and others benefit from a conservative physical boundary.
Radar, runtime and software
An onboard radar helps detect and avoid objects. This is different from camera systems marketed around hundreds of visual object categories. The 8 Ah battery is specified for about 145 minutes of mowing with a 45-minute standard charge time. Perceived sound is 60 dB(A) and ingress protection is IPX4.
Husqvarna's 2026 firmware added systematic mowing patterns and general improvements. That matters because the 5000 m² headline depends on route strategy, not hardware alone.
Polish price and promotion
Husqvarna Poland directs buyers to dealers and does not display one retail price on the product page. The model is currently included in an extended-warranty promotion offering up to five years for qualifying purchases from participating authorised dealers through 30 September 2026. Buyers should also confirm whether their site needs an RS1 station and what installation will cost.
Who is it for?
435X AWD NERA is mainly for a large, uneven site with serious slopes where a smaller domestic mower would hit traction limits. On a flat 500–1000 m² lawn, it will usually be unnecessarily large and expensive. See our 2026 mower shortlist and our slope-mower guidance for context.
